AMC tribute to Rubens

23 October 7-9:30 PM at Underdog Gallery (6 Crucifix Lane, London SE1 3JW)
Universally admired as the great master of the Flemish Baroque tradition, Pieter Paul Rubens was a very successful and prolific Dutch artist. His highly charged painting compositions, inspired by erudite Christian passages, mythological subjects and references are considered the epitome of movement and colour in its most powerful expression.
We will pay tribute to his allegorical sense of sensuality by welcoming to AMC’s tableaux vivant a nordic beauty and one of London's most adored professional models, Solfrid Sandersen. Bringing her amazing presence to AMC’s residence, the Underdog Gallery, and sharing the stage with Carla, it will be as dreamy as it will be carnal.
Together both models will recreate a classical nude session that will embrace the fluid and strong presence of the ‘Rubensian’ body with expressive and curvaceous poses and gestures.
Be prepared to also draw a stage beautifully dressed with some heavenly satin draperies, and to enjoy an immersive classic baroque playlist that will transport you to the extraordinarily fleshy spirit of Rubens' life-size imagery.
